developing electronic quality assurance software is shipping MarkzTools III
which explodes with powerful new features!
MarkzTools III is an updated version of its popular QuarkXPress utility
which takes additional steps of preventing files from going bad, thus
making it a Document Insurance Policy. MarkzTools III will salvage or
repair corrupted document files, as well as open higher version documents
such as opening a QuarkXPress 4.0 document while inside a QuarkXPress 3.3
or below.
MarkzTools III is comprised of 7 robust modules:
The Conversion Module allows the user to open and convert higher version
documents within lower versions of QuarkXPress as well as convert Kanji
documents within English QuarkXPress and vice versa.
The Salvage Module allows the user to salvage and open badly damaged
documents which QuarkXPress is unable to open due to errors such as “Bad
File Format”, “Out of Memory”, “End of File” etc.
The Verification Module newly added in MarkzTools III will allow the user
to verify saved documents so you can immediately know when the integrity of
the document file is suspect.
The Safety Save Module another new addition will allow the user to first
save a temporary copy of the document before actually saving the original
document so that in the event something goes wrong, such as the network
going down while saving, a temporary file is immediately available for
recovery.
The Scavenge Text Module also new will allow the user to extract text
stories from a document file. This function can be used as a last resort if
the file is badly corrupted and its page layout data cannot be salvaged.
The Version Keeper Module will warn the user whenever you are about to save
a lower version document up to a higher version.
The Gray Preview Module newly added allows the user to convert picture
previews into simple gray pictures which greatly reduces the document’s
file size on the hard drive. Pictures can be easily updated at any time in
the future with their original full color preview.

MarkzTools III is $199 MSRP and $69 for upgrades. Minimum System
Requirements: A Macintosh computer with either a 68K or PPC processor, a
minimum of 4 to 8 MBS of RAM, Apple System software version 7.1 or higher,
13″ RGB monitor, QuarkXPress version 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 or 4.0.
