Krathwohl to Fill Roizen’s Shoes

David Krathwohl was just appointed vice president of Apple Developer
Relations, filling the position previously held by Heidi Roizen. As vice
president of Apple Developer Relations, David Krathwohl is responsible
for building and maintaining relationships between Apple and its
developers worldwide, encouraging developer commitment to Apple
platforms, and defining programs that facilitate developer success. As
the former director of International Developer Relations, Krathwohl
brings a wealth of knowledge of Apple’s Macintosh developer community to

David Krathwohl
Vice President, Developer Relations
Apple Computer, Inc.

As vice president of Apple Developer Relations, David Krathwohl is
responsible for building and maintaining relationships between Apple and
its developers worldwide, creating integrated initiatives that encourage
developer commitment to Apple platforms, and defining programs that
facilitate developer success. He leads Apple’s Developer Relations
organization, including Evangelism, Developer Technology Services,
Developer Marketing, Developer Business Development, and International
Developer Relations.

Krathwohl brings a breadth of interest and a wealth of knowledge to Apple’s
developer community. He started his professional career as a photo
journalist. After receiving his masters in education, he became a classroom
teacher and later the computer coordinator for the school district. He then
left education and returned to journalism, becoming the editor at “Nibble”,
a computer magazine focused on programming for the Apple II and Macintosh.
In 1985, he joined the Apple Developer Program as a developer of education
software.

In 1989, Krathwohl came to Apple and has worked with Apple’s Macintosh
developer community for the past eight years. He first managed the
Developer Press group which produced “develop” magazine, an Apple technical
journal for developers, and the Developer CD. In 1993, he moved to Germany
to manage Developer Relations in Europe. After three years he returned to
California to manage International Developer Relations and in 1996,
Krathwohl was promoted to director of International Developer Relations by
Heidi Roizen.

Krathwohl holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from Cornell
University and a masters in Education from Framingham State College in
Massachusetts. David and his wife have two teenage children and live on the
peninsula.
