Developer Central Returns to Macworld Boston

Apple Computer, MacTech Showcase Products and Services for Developers

Cupertino, CA — July 28, 1997 — Apple Computer, Inc. today announced its
plans to showcase the latest technologies, tools, support, and information
for developers at Macworld Boston, Aug, 6-8, 1997. Co-sponsored by Apple
and MacTech magazine, the Developer Central Pavilion is designed to provide
convenient access to information on the latest developer products and
services for Mac OS Macintosh platform development.

“Developer Central is a dynamic environment where developers can come for
the latest products and information on developing for the Apple
platforms,” said David Krathwohl, vice president, Apple Developer
Relations. “We reached over 20,000 Macworld attendees at our expanded
Developer Central in San Francisco last January. In Boston we’ll build on
this momentum by facilitating collaboration among tool vendors and
application developers.”

“The developer community is a great future indicator of how the Mac will be
doing in 12-18 months.” said Neil Ticktin, Publisher of MacTech magazine.
“We know that people are extremely interested in Mac development [MacTech’s
readership is up significantly from a year ago], and this interest is in
part due to great tools and technologies that will be showcased in
Developer Central.”

At Developer Central, developers of all experience levels can find the
tools and information they need to create corporate and commercial
applications, as well as multimedia titles and custom solutions:

Within its large exhibit space, Developer Central will showcase almost 25
developer products and services in individual stations. Attendees will be
able to speak with representatives from Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd.,
Apple Computer, Inc., Bare Bones Software, Inc., DevDepot, MacTech
Magazine, MAGMA, Mathemaesthetics, Inc., Metrowerks, MindVision Software,
Roaster Technologies, Inc., Scientific Placement, Inc., Snowbound Software,
Sybase, Inc., Symantec Corporation, TechWorks, Tenon Intersystems, The Bomb
Squad, Thursby Software Systems, Inc., and other leading developer product
vendors.

Dozens of tools and information products will be available for
cash-and-carry purchases from the DevDepot selling area. As always,
there will be great deals on many products.

Representatives from Apple’s Developer Relations (ADR) organization will be
on hand at the pavilion to discuss Apple’s support programs and to provide
a one-stop, single source for ADR information and services. These include
developer programs; developer training; and information about Developer
World web site (http://www.devworld.apple.com).

A “Virtual Developer Central” CD ROM will be distributed to attendees who
register at the booth. The CD-ROM is a collection of detailed product and
technical materials from participating companies including many product
demos.

The Developer Central Pavilion will be located at the Boston Bayside Expo
Center, Hall B within the main Apple Booth. Pavilion hours are August 6-7:
10:00am-6:00pm; August 8: 10:00am-4:00pm. Cost of admission to Macworld
exhibits, which includes admission to Developer Central, is U.S. $40. For
