For Release Sept. 1, 1998

IMAGINA SHIPS NEWSTAND 2.0 AND INTRODUCES INTRANEWSTAND 2.0 BOTH WITH
FILTERED NEWSGROUP FEATURES, ANTI-SPAM CAPABILITIES

Imagina responds to market demand with anti-spam and filtered newsgroup
features in Newstand 2.0 and IntraNewstand 2.0.

Portland, Ore., Sept. 1, 1998 – Imagina, Inc., a developer of
Internet-based applications expanded its Newstand family of products today.
The company developed an additional product, IntraNewstand 2.0 and added
new features to its popular discussion group and news server solution,
Newstand, upgrading it to version 2.0. Both products enable users to set
their own content acceptance standards and offer powerful workgroup
collaboration and news server capabilities.

Newstand 2.0 includes the features being introduced in IntraNewstand such
as anti-spam capabilities, filtering screens and more. The upgrade provides
organizations with the ability to easily manage newsgroups as part of their
Internet initiatives, and capabilities for threaded and trackable
electronic group discussions. Newsgroup capacity has been optimized in
version 2.0, and sample configurations for more manageable newsfeeds have
also been added.

Imagina developed IntraNewstand 2.0, a collaboration tool, in response to
demand for a product which offers the workgroup abilities of Newstand
without the Usenet link. IntraNewstand enables organizations to build
secure cyberforums to support company initiatives involving personnel at
disparate locations. The product offers organizations more control over
internal user postings and forum content, through extensive filtering and
anti-spam capabilities. Based on the technology of Imagina’s successful
Newstand software with TCP/IP connections, IntraNewstand also communicates
across operating system boundaries, yet access to external Usenet is
disabled.

“As a completely internal solution utilizing internet protocols,
IntraNewstand makes it easier for companies to create secure forums and
discussion groups,” said Linda Trotta, Imagina’s vice president of
worldwide sales, marketing, and product development. “At the same time,
IntraNewstand includes the same new performance features of Newstand 2.0.”

At the corporate level, IntraNewstand facilitates collaboration among
product development teams, engineering or marketing groups, project team
leaders, division managers or corporate executives – anyone authorized by
the network administrator. Both IntraNewstand and Newstand offer
administrators more control over group content by filtering discussion
group postings such as pictures and spam deemed inappropriate by individual
organizations.

The administrative module and database for the Newstand family resides on a
Macintosh server, yet users of other computers and operating systems can
access both IntraNewstand and Newstand through any popular news reader,
such as Netscape Communicator and Microsoft Outlook Express. The
administrator feature also enables corporations to tailor access options,
maintain and monitor group lists, and create new, customized newsgroups
through easy drag and drop commands and sample configurations.

IntraNewstand 2.0 is priced at $250 for single users and $600 for a site
license. Newstand 2.0 will be priced at $750 and $1,400 for a site license.
All sales include free technical support for 90 days and minor upgrades for
one year.
