[MD1] VVI-DCS Online Help for Mac OS X Server

Press Release

VVI-DCS To Ship Full-Featured Online Help Application
For Windows NT, Windows 95, Mac OS X Server and OpenStep/Mach

State College, PA USA, 28 October 1998: VVI Data Control Specialists(TM)
(VVI-DCS(TM)) today announced that it is shipping a full-featured online
help application, called ManualsOnline(TM), with its upcoming version 5.1
OpenGraph and GraphBuilder CDs. John Brilhart, CTO of VVI-DCS, remarks: “A
year ago we had high-quality formatted online help manuals that used an
obsolete platform-specific help application. At that time our options
included converting to other platform-specific help systems or converting
to HTML and using Web browsers. We decided those options were too limiting
so we created ManualsOnline . That application enables easy integration of
rich-content manuals consistent with the needs of a multi-application,
multi-author, cross-platform situation and is geared specifically to the
needs of applications’ online help manuals. ManualsOnline has been tested
against several manuals and over 250 chapters of OpenGraph related
documentation and it works excellent. We are scheduled to ship a version
late this year for the Windows NT, Windows 95, Mac OS X Server and OpenStep
operating systems.”

About OpenGraph: OpenGraph is a framework of Objective-C and C++ objects

feeds from any source and serves as a graphing front-end for real-time

and is well suited to systems which require reliability, exacting
specifications and performance.
