Adobe Premiere Announcement
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 21 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Adobe Systems
Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) announced the availability of an enhanced
version of Adobe(R) Premiere(R) 5.1 software, providing Apple(R)
Power Macintosh(R) G3 computer users with an even easier and more
cost effective way to incorporate video content and creation into
their everyday work. The Adobe Premiere 5.1 software update is
available at no additional charge to registered Mac customers on the
Adobe Web site at http://www.adobe.com/premiere .
The enhanced version of Adobe Premiere 5.1 software delivers a
seamless digital video (DV) editing solution to Mac G3 customers,
allowing them to plug in a DV camcorder to a new G3 shipping with
FireWire and begin editing high quality video from the desktop
without the need for additional hardware. By providing support for
NTSC and PAL Digital Video, Adobe Premiere provides users with the
ability to directly control DV cameras, to capture and export DV, and
to simultaneously playback video from both Adobe Premiere and through
the DV camera.
Today, the proliferation of powerful desktop computers, combined with
affordable digital video cameras and professional digital video
editing software, is helping customers bring their work to life with
more motion, sound and interactive experiences in video and on the
Web. Adobe Premiere 5.1 enables small video studios, industrial video
professionals, event videographers, and multimedia and Web developers
to create video and easily output it across mediums, from videotape
to multimedia and the Web.
The enhanced version of Adobe Premiere 5.1 also takes advantage of
other DV and QuickTime 4 enhancements that make it easier than ever
to distribute digital video. QuickTime 4 allows users to instantly
view video on the Web without downloading to their disk. With support
for QuickTime 4, Adobe Premiere users can now easily edit video in a
supported format like MJPEG or DV, and then export it as a “hinted”
streaming QuickTime movie for the Web. In addition, Adobe Premiere
software users can take advantage of greater than 2GB file support,
offering the ability to capture video files that were previously
inaccessible due to size limitations.
“Adobe Premiere now allows customers using an Apple G3 to create
QuickTime streaming movies for the Web by providing the best of DV,
FireWire and QuickTime 4 support,” said Ron Okamoto, senior director
of product marketing for Adobe Systems. “When Premiere is used in
conjunction with Adobe’s complete family of award winning
professional and motion graphics software applications including
Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator-G3 users
reap the benefits of a completely integrated Dynamic Media solution.”
