Asante today announced the FriendlyNET FR5000 series Cable/DSL router, a business-class Internet sharing router that also features Networked Attached Storage capabilities, allowing both Mac and Windows users to back-up their data. The FR5037 features seven 10/100 ports, bi-directional print server, backup modem port, and a 30GB hard drive for US$1,249. The FR5007 offers the same but without the hard drive for $1,099. A hard drive installation kit can later be purchased for the FR5007 for $55.
