Quark today announced the release of QuarkXPress 5.0, the long-awaited upgrade to its page layout and design software. New in version 5.0 is support for tables, layers, XML export, Web design tools, and more. QuarkXPress 5.0 is available for US$995; upgrades from versions 3.x and 4.x are available for $399 and $299, respectively. A Mac OS X version of the product is scheduled to ship later this year.
