Apple today announced Shake 2.5 for Mac OS X, the first release of the industy-leading compositing and visual effects software for the platform. Apple aquired Shake when it purchased Nothing Real earlier this year. Shake 2.5 will ship in August and will require Mac OS X 10.2. It will also be released for Linux, IRIX, and Windows. Shake 2.5 for Mac OS X will sell for US$4,950 with annual maintenance of $1,199, while Linux, IRIX, and Windows versions will sell for $9,900 with annual maintenance of $1,485.
