Quanta Computer, which manufactures Apple’s PowerBook, iBook, and flat-panel iMac systems, said sales in July were down 12.3 percent from June and came in under NT$10 billion for the first time in 10 months. According to DigiTimes, analysts cited the shortfall on reduced sales from HP, as well as Apple’s decision to effectively cease production of the 15-inch iMac in July as inventory piled up. Analysts expect a quick turnaround for Quanta, however, as 17-inch iMacs that have started shipping this month should be in strong demand.
