Charismac today announced RAID Toolbox for OS X, a software-based striping, mirroring, and disk partioning utility. RAID Toolbox supports FireWire, IDE, fibre channel, USB, and SCSI drives and can support stripes with up to 40 partitions. The software can be used to update existing Mac OS 9 CharisMac RAID arrays for use with Mac OS X, and FireWire stripes and mirrors can be used with both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. RAID Toolbox for OS X sells for US$99.95 and includes Mac OS 9 and Windows 2000 versions of the software as well. Upgrades from CharisMac RAID are $39.95, while competitive upgrades are $69.95.
