PC-Mac-Net FileShare v2.0

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PC-Mac-Net FileShare v2.0 makes workgroup file sharing simple, secure and
inexpensive

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA — August 19, 2002 — Lava Software is now shipping
PC-Mac-Net FileShare v2.0, a product which allows users to transfer files
easily and securely between Macintoshes and Windows PCs over a Local Area
Network (LAN) or the Internet.

This new version includes streamlined support for workgroups containing
from 2 to 50 computers, where any number of workgroups can be set up on a
network. Settings can be easily transferred to all computers in a
workgroup, making it simple to manage networks containing a large number of
computers. Since Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is used for all network
operations, PC-Mac-Net FileShare is the perfect solution for cross-platform
file sharing on home, school and office networks.

PC-Mac-Net FileShare offers additional benefits compared to file sharing
built into Windows and MacOS: all file access is protected by strong
448-bit encryption and sharing passwords, ensuring that only authorized
users have access to files. File transfers can be paused and resumed at any
time, allowing even very large files to be reliably transferred. All shared
files must be located in the ‘Shared’ folder on the desktop, preventing
remote users from accessing other disks and folders.

PC-Mac-Net FileShare works as seamlessly via the Internet as it does via
LAN. This means that shared files stored on your online home computer can
be safely accessed from your school or office. Friends can also
conveniently transfer files of any size via the Internet, irrespective of
what type of connection is used (eg. dialup modem, ADSL, cable, etc).

PC-Mac-Net FileShare is fully Macintosh aware, correctly transferring flat
files from Windows PCs and files with resource forks and custom
types/creators from other Macintoshes. Files transferred from PC to Mac
have their type/creator set automatically (based on the Windows PC file
name extension) and files transferred from Mac to PC have their PC file
name extension added automatically.

The free demo software allows users to evaluate PC-Mac-Net FileShare for an
unlimited time, though some functions are limited. The full version is
priced at USD24.95 per license (one license is required for each computer),
with volume and school discounts available. Purchasers get download access
to the current version of the software for all platforms, as well as free
upgrades for one year.

Versions are available for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP and MacOS Classic
(from System 9.0 upwards, with PPC processor). MacOS X version coming soon.
