HEURIS ANNOUNCES XTRACTOR X (TM)
A New Version of HEURIS’ Popular Xtractor Software for Demultiplexing
Non-encrypted DVDs Now Available for Apple’s OS X(r) Operating System.
St. Louis, Missouri, October 17, 2002- HEURIS, makers of the most widely
used professional MPEG encoder MPEG Power Professional(tm), announced today
that they are shipping Xtractor X, a Mac OS X version of their popular MPEG
Xtractor software. As with previous versions, Xtractor X can be used to
extract or “rip” audio and video files from unencrypted DVDs. Users can
demultiplex and extract elementary streams from MPEG 1 system streams, MPEG
2 program streams, and MPEG 2 transport streams, including HDTV streams
recorded with a DTV decoder card.
The extractor can also be used to extract DVD VR formatted MPEG streams
recorded with Hitachi’s DZMV100 DVD camera or Panasonic’s DMR-E20 line of
DVD recorders. This gives users the ability to add new and different audio
tracks to encoded video streams or simply to recover elementary streams
from a finished DVD project.
Xtractor X is compatible exclusively with MAC OS X and features an easy to
use, drag and drop interface. Users simply, select an output folder, drag
and drop the MPEG file onto Xtractor, and the MPEG elementary streams are
extracted and saved to the output directory.
“We’re pleased to offer Apple OS X users this powerful new tool,” said
HEURIS President, Brian Quandt. “OS X users have asked for the ability to
go back and add different tracks to a previously encoded, unencrypted
project. This product allows them to do just that–effortlessly and cost
effectively.”
Pricing and Availability
Xtractor X is currently available directly from HEURIS for $149. Customers
may call HEURIS sales or purchase the product online at www.heuris.com.
