Panic today released Transmit 2.2, a free update to its popular FTP client for Mac OS X. Version 2.2 adds support for Apple’s Rendezvous technology via a pop-up menu that automatically lists all Rendezvous-capable local FTP servers. The update also includes an optional “Edit in BBEdit” button to toolbars, a new preference to manually set ASCII file extensions, lets a user automatically connect to a server on launch, fixes a potential problem with high idle CPU usage, adds Spanish localization, and fixes several bugs, many regarding SFTP. Transmit 2 sells for US$24.95.
