Other World Computing (OWC) today announced that it has dropped its prices by 26 percent or more on DVD-R/W and CD-R/W FireWire storage solutions. The Mercury Pro DVR-105 DVD-R/RW+CD-R/RW optical drive, which offers both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces, is now priced at US$340. The Mercury Pro 52x/24x/52x-speed CD-R/W drive also features FireWire and USB 2.0 ports and is now priced at $129.99. Both OWC Mercury Pro FireWire storage solutions come with a minimum of 25 pieces of CD-R media and one or more software packages for CD and/or DVD creation.
