YazSoft today announced the immediate availability of Speed Download 2, a new version of the company’s popular download manager. Version 2 was completely rewritten and optimized for Mac OS X and is up to 75% faster than the original Speed Download, according to the developer. Speed Download 2 brings a redesigned OS X interface, integrated Rendezvous and Remote technology, Version Tracker search/integration, multiple URL download support, and wildcard support for password protected sites. It also offers folder and queue system management, support for Safari/Webcore cookies, support for large files (greater than 2GB), dock icon feedback, improved SSL support, enhanced contextual menu support, and improved multi-processor support. Speed Download 2 requires Mac OS X 10.2.6 or later and is priced at US$20.
