As expected, Nielsen SoundScan on Wednesday said it will start tracking digital music downloads from several online services, including Apple’s iTunes Music Store. SoundScan provides weekly retail music sales information that serves as the basis for the popular weekly Billboard Magazine music charts. In addition to iTunes, the company said that it will now be tracking downloads sold on Pressplay, MusicNet, and Listen.com.
