Other World Computing (OWC) today added several new models to its popular Mercury line of external storage solutions, while also dropping prices on several selected Mercury models by as much as US$70. Additions to OWC’s Mercury product line are the following new models: a 250GB/5200RPM Mercury Elite Pro FireWire 800/400 + USB 2.0/1.1 Combo storage solution with 2MB of RAM ($349.99); a 250GB/5200RPM Mercury Elite Pro FireWire 400 + USB 2.0/1.1 Combo storage solution with 2MB of RAM ($299.99); a Mercury Pro 52x32x52 CD-R/RW External FireWire + USB 2.0/1.1 Combo solution ( $119.99; and a Mercury Pro DVD-R/RW + CD-R/RW FireWire + USB 2.0/1.1 Combo solution ($289.99). In addition, OWC announced that it has begun bundling Dantz’s Retrospect backup and restore software with all external OWC Mercury FireWire storage drives.
