Wal-Mart plans music download service

Wal-Mart plans to launch an iTunes-like pay-per-song download service by the end of the year, according to Bloomberg. The company plans to make the download service part of its Web site and charge customers 99 cents to download songs. Wal-Mart is the world’s largest retailer and the top seller of compact discs, controlling 14 percent of worldwide music sales.
