SmartDisk Corporation today announced additional design features and capacities for its Rover compact portable USB data storage device that also acts as an MP3 player, FM radio and voice recorder. Rover is small, lightweight, sturdy and versatile. The unit slides apart to plug directly into the USB port on a computer and is automatically recognized as a removable storage device. Rover holds up to 256MB of data or 4 hours of MP3 music, and allows up to 12 hours continuous play from one AAA alkaline battery, according to the press release. Rover is offered in two capacities: 128MB for a suggested retail price of US$129.99 (available now) and 256MB for $179.99 (available in January).
