Brother International today introduced several new laser printers, including its first sub-US$1,000 color laser printer for small businesses — the new HL-2700CN, with up to 31ppm monochrome printing, 8ppm color, built-in networking, and more. The HL-2700CN has an estimated street price of $899, and is expected to ship this month. Also announced is the new HL-5100 series laser printers: HL-5140, HL-5150D, HL-5150DLT and HL-5170DN. The new line replaces the existing HL-5000 series and offers faster print speeds, more standard memory, standard duplex printing on three of the four models, and optional wireless printing. Shipments are expected to begin next month with estimate street prices of $229, $299, $349 and $449, respectively.
