Other World Computing (OWC) has boosted the top-end model of its Mercury Extreme G4 processor upgrade line to 1.5 GHz; the company has also reduced prices by as much as US$40 on select Mercury Extreme G4 models. Pricing ranges from $329.99 from a 1.0GHz processor to $549.99 for a 1.5GHz model. All Mercury Extreme G4 upgrades feature 256KB of 1:1 L2 cache on-chip and 2MB of L3 cache. They’re compatible with Power Mac G4 AGP Graphics (Sawtooth), Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Audio and Quicksilver models and support Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.2.1 (and higher).
