DEVONtechnologies has updated two of its products — DEVONthink Personal Edition and DEVONagent. DEVONthink 1.8.1, is the latest version of the company’s freeform database and information manager, now allows not only to completely import documents into the database, but also to only index them. Other improvements include new dock and contextual menu commands, new AppleScript verbs for indexing files or creating links to them, and the possibility to search in real time like in the “Panther” Finder. DEVONagent 1.2.2, an Internet search agent, provides the possibility to easily switch between different settings directly in the query window, display error messages when loading a Web page fails and comes with the ability to add archived pages to crawler sets. DEVONthink and DEVONagent require Mac OS X 10.2 or later with Safari installed and are priced at US$40 and $35, respectively, or $65 bundled together.
