The AAC (Advanced Audio Codec) audio format, which Apple uses on its iTunes Music Store, has been “chosen as a key future DVD Audio disc technology by the standard’s governing body, the DVD Forum,” reports The Register. According to the report, an unnamed Forum member was cited on the Web site High Fidelity Review as saying that the AAC format was chosen over the other options as it “sounded better than the others.”
