The TarHeel Mac Users Group at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is currently hosting their digital media competition, dubbed MiLife: Carolina. Similar events have focused on only one application, but this contest includes all of the iLife ’04 apps, according to The MUG Center, an online resource for Mac User Groups. Students can enter projects in the categories of Movies (iMovie), Photo Slideshows (iPhoto), Digital Music Compositions (GarageBand), and Music Videos (iMovie+GarageBand). Students also have the option to go the extra step and create their own DVD for movie projects in iDVD. Apple, the campus reseller, The RAM Shop, a local restaurant and the campus labs are sponsors of the event.
