iVCD gets new menu features, more

Mireth Technology has released iVCD 2.0, an update to its software for making Video CDs and Super Video CDs. Version 2.0 adds Video CD Playlists and Menus for authoring Video CDs that include a menu; this lets you can make a more interactive presentation. Other new features include: a TV Safe Border effect for “rescuing” videos that appear clipped to the TV Screen; a Kiosk mode for making VCD that play continuously; the ability to lighten movies that appear too dark when encoded as MPEG; an One-Step Video CD Convert+Image+Burn operation; an encoded MPEG Preview using the Movie window; improved performance through enhanced threading; and support for more CD-RW drives with Apple Disk Recording application programming interfaces (this feature requires Mac OS X 10.3). iVCD for Mac OS X costs US$29.95; various upgrade options are available for owners of versions prior to 2.0.
