PGP Corp. has released PGP Desktop 8.1, a new version of its security product line for individuals, workgroups, organizations, governments and enterprises. The latest version includes: an enhanced user interface and functionality for Apple’s Mail application; improved compatibility with international character sets encrypted using plug-ins for Mail, Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express; automatic update notification; validation of core PGP encryption by FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards); and a German language version.
