PowerLogix today announced a 1.1GHz upgrade for Power Mac G3 Beige and “Blue and White” computers. Available now for US$349, the PowerForce G3 ZIF offers up to fives times the clock speed of original G3 Power Macs, and is compatible with Mac OS 9 and OS X. PowerLogix has also lowered pricing on its G4 CPU upgrades. The single processor PowerForce G4 for Power Mac G4 AGP and Gigabit Ethernet is now priced at $399 for the 1.2GHz chip (formerly $439) and $439 for the 1.4GHz upgrade (formerly $539). The dual processor PowerForce G4 for Power Mac G4 (all models except PCI Graphics) is now priced at $749 for the 1.3GHz upgrade (formerly $899).
