CatScan easily finds hidden OS X images, NIBs, more

User Interface and Icon designer Mike Matas and software engineer Corwin Light-Williams have announced the release of CatScan, new software that automatically finds any images, NIB files, and HTML files inside a Mac OS X folder or application. CatScan then displays them as thumbnails in an easy to read grid layout. “Using CatScan you can explore applications and discover how they were created, looking at icons and NIBs used to create the interface,” explains the developers. “CatScan also lets you explore the scanned items using it’s innovative ‘Lens’ that magnifies the thumbnail under your cursor. By clicking on one of the thumbnails, you can find out what size it is, what format it is in, when it was created and even where it is on your hardrive.” CatScan is US$10 shareware.
