Yahoo said today that it plans to buy Musicmatch for about US$160 million in a bid to bolster its online digital music services. Privately held Musicmatch offers Windows software that lets users manage their digital music collections, listen to online radio stations, and download songs from its music store. Reuters reports that Musicmatch will complement Yahoo’s Launch music service, which offers Internet radio and music videos, with music subscriptions and downloads.
