Survey shows interest in an Apple ‘iPhone’

A survey conducted by Piper Jaffray has shown interest in a hypothetical “iPhone,” reports Forbes. “The 200-person survey suggested an 18% interest in an iPhone, which would be capable of serving as both an iPod and a phone, and be manufactured and branded by Apple,” notes the story. As a result, the research firm has maintained an “outperform” rating and a US$52 price target on Apple. “We believe that if the long-term threat to iPods is a cell phone/MP3 player combo, Apple should make its own iPod phone (iPhone), turning the threat into an opportunity,” said Piper Jaffray.
