DEVONtechnologies today announced the release of DEVONthink Professional 1.0.1, the latest iteration of the company’s “paperless office” utility. With version 1.0.1 users can now drag not only documents, but also whole groups to the Finder or other applications. Other improvements include: opening documents in external applications has been simplified, a Finder-like “Open With” submenu lists all applications that are able to open a selected document; sheets and records can now be copied or dragged to other applications and are there treated like simple text; all mail import scripts now create better formatted documents, and the application imports complete Apple Mail or Microsoft Entourage mailboxes, including all sub-mailboxes while recreating the original mailbox structure within the database. DEVONthink Professional 1.0.1 runs on Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later (some features are only available on Tiger), and is priced at US$75 (introductory price). A free 150-hour trial version is also available.
