DivX today announced the release of DivX 6 for Mac, a digital media software suite that lets users easily create and play highly compressed, high-quality DivX video compatible with millions of consumer electronics devices. DivX 6 for Mac includes the new DivX Converter for Mac, a one-step video creation application that represents the first official stand-alone DivX encoding program for the Mac platform. The release also includes the DivX 6 codec for Mac, a QuickTime plug-in that lets Mac users easily playback and export to DivX video from any QuickTime-based application. DivX 6 is for Mac is priced at US$19.99 and is compatible with QuickTime 6 and 7 and Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
