A new startup company run by ex-Apple CEO Gil Amelio, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and former Apple executive Ellen Hancock has been launched, reports EE Times. The startup, Acquicor Technology, also raised US$150 million in an initial public offering on the American Stock Exchange. The new “blank check” company, which does not make or sell anything of its own, will seek acquisitions in the technology sector. “Our efforts in identifying prospective target businesses will not be limited to a particular industry, although we intend to focus on the technology, multimedia and networking sectors,” according to new documents filed with the SEC.
