Other World Computing (OWC) today announced the availability of its newly updated Mercury Pro DVR-111 external solution (US$129.99), a DVD +/- R&RW dual layer + CDRW burner featuring FireWire and USB2 interfaces. Featuring up to 16X DVD, 8X Dual Layer DVD, and 40X CD Burn speeds, the OWC Mercury Pro DVR-111 FireWire/USB2 solution also offers high-speed read/playback of CD and DVD Media types including DVD-RAM. The Mercury Pro supports burning of up to 8.5 gigabytes of data per disc and comes with NTI Dragonburn Authoring Software, EMC/Dantz Retrospect Backup, 5 pieces of DVD media, 25 pieces of CD-R media, and all connecting cables.
