Tribalmedia has announced that they have acquired the media software suite iShell from Tribeworks, and will immediately begin marketing, selling, and supporting iShell. iShell is a software tool that allows developers to rapidly create secure, interactive, multiplatform CD and DVD-ROMs. The product is also used to create other types of multimedia applications such as kiosks, digital signage, and standalone Internet applications. A descendant of the Apple Media Tool, iShell has long been promoted as an easy-to-use, versatile alternative to Director and similar tools. Pricing for iShell starts at US$495.
