Allume Systems today released StuffIt Deluxe 11, the latest version of its data compression, access, and management tool for Mac OS X. New features in this release include: an Archive Manager (fast and easy access to all your archives); StuffIt Collections (automatically group related files with a single click); powerful search tools (StuffIt Deluxe makes it easy to find files in your archives and backups. StuffIt + Spotlight lets you search for files even when the archives they’re stored in are located on CDs, DVDs, networks, external hard drives or other “offline” locations); Strong Encrypted Zip Support (StuffIt now allows you to open Zip files encrypted using the 256bit AES method); improved Preview Image Thumbnails (preview archived JPEG images within archives without having to decompress the data); improved performance (StuffIt’s is now a Universal Binary and takes full advantage of multiple PPC processors and Intel Cores. Speed improvements have been made across the board — up to 20% faster with the same compression results); and more. StuffIt Deluxe 11 requires Mac OS 10.4 or later and is priced at US$79.99 ($29.99 upgrade).
