Ambrosia Software confirmed today that they would be teaming up with London Maverick indie developer Introversion Software to release a Mac version of their latest hit, DEFCON, an online multiplayer strategy game based around the theme of thermonuclear Armageddon. This partnership continues on from previous successful Mac releases of Introversion’s earlier titles, Uplink and Darwinia. DEFCON is an online, competitive, multiplayer strategy game simulating global thermonuclear war. The game, inspired by the 1983 cult-classic film, WarGames, evokes the tension, paranoia and suspicion surrounding the Cold War era. Currently undergoing the beta testing phase, DEFCON is due for a March release and will be priced at US$25.
