Gladys Eavesdrops on FileMaker Server Systems to Provide Database
Administrators Unprecedented Server Monitoring and Notification
Capabilities
BERKELEY, Calif., March 21, 2007 — Crooked Arm Corp. today shipped
Gladys 1.0, a utility for FileMaker Server administrators that
automatically monitors FileMaker servers and generates custom
notifications. Gladys runs on Mac OS X to monitor FileMaker servers
on both Mac and Windows. Developed under the code name of
“Eavesdrop,” Gladys 1.0 is available immediately directly from
Crooked Arm at (http://www.crookedarm.com/).
“Gladys is the first product that ensures the database administrator
is the first to know about an access issue,” said Stuart Gripman,
founder and president of Crooked Arm. “Before Gladys, notification
was typically provided by a frantic, unhappy user on the phone, or a
system of complex, extreme customization. Now, administrators have a
straightforward product that lets them rest easy, knowing if a system
or file becomes unavailable, they can be notified almost anywhere
with details that help them troubleshoot.”
“Our SyncDeK developers create systems that organizations rely on to
access their data any time, anywhere,” explained Jason Erickson,
founder and CEO of WorldSync, Inc, and Gladys beta tester. “Gladys
worked as advertised in our testing, providing any time, anywhere
notification that a server or database has gone down. The headache
that Gladys eliminates is huge, particularly the nightmare scenario
of having a client’s boss discover a down server first. WorldSync
will definitely recommend our Mac FileMaker developers also use
Gladys.”
Gladys is a customizable server administrator’s tool that monitors
FileMaker server availability, specific file availability and
specific account status. Gladys can be configured to provide
information notifications to administrators directly on screen, via
email or text message. Gladys can also trigger AppleScripts for
ultimate flexibility. Gladys supports password protected FileMaker
Servers.
Pricing and Availability
Gladys is available today, running on Mac OS X 10.4 or later for
monitoring mixed-platform Mac and Windows FileMaker Server
environments. Gladys is priced at $199 for a single-server license
including 5 agents; $499 for a pro license that includes an unlimited
number of agents; and $999 for a site license.
