Bare Bones Software has released TextWrangler 3.1
(http://www.barebones.com/support/textwrangler/current_notes.html),
an update to the text editor. The new version introduces a new
command-line tool, “twfind,” which provides access to the app’s
multi-file searching from the Unix command line.
In addition, FTP/SFTP browsers now feature a “New” button allowing
for the creation of new files and folders directly within the browser
window. Further enhancements include direct management of attached
menu scripts in the Menus preference panel, improvements to the Java
and Python language support, new support for the ability to browse
Unix “tar” files in disk browsers, and the addition of an “Unlearn
Spelling” command to remove learned words from a user’s spelling
dictionary, when running on Mac OS X 10.5 and later.
Version 3.1 also offers enhanced handling of extended file
attributes, improved syntax coloring and more. In addition, interface
enhancements to the Find and Multi-File Search windows now show
tooltips when hovering over various option switches and buttons.
TextWrangler 3.1 also includes fixes to reported issues and
refinements to this general-purpose text processing tool.
TextWrangler 3.1 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later, and is compatible
with Mac OS X 10.4and higher. All Mac OS X users may download
TextWrangler free of charge from the Bare Bones Software web site.
