Sonny Software has released Bookends 11, a Mac-only full-featured bibliography/reference and information management application for professionals and students.
Bookends 11 includes the following enhancements: tag clouds (visual depictions of terms and words in references); unlimited metatypes (combine information from two references in one
citation); an updated interface; enhanced notecard display; automatic smart quotes; and more flexible in-text citations.
A free evaluation copy of Bookends 11 can be downloaded from the Sonny Software web site (http://www.sonnysoftware.com). All features are enabled in the evaluation copy except that databases are limited to a maximum of 50 references. Once purchased, Sonny Software will supply a registration number that will “unlock” the evaluation version and remove this restriction.
Bookends 11 retails for US$99 ($69 for students), but is free to anyone who bought Bookends 10.6.3 on or after Jan. 1, 2010. Single user upgrades from previous versions are $29. There are discounts for those who are switching from EndNote or other reference management products, and for registered users of Mellel and Nisus
