Pegatron Technology has received orders for an iPhone based on CDMA from Apple with annual shipments expected to reach 10 million units., reports”DigiTimes” (http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20100513PD205.html). The orders should start contributing to the Taiwan-based company’s revenues in August or September, according to “sources from component makers.”
If it actually happened, this would be the first time Apple has produced a version of the iPhone for a CDMA wireless network, which is different from AT&T’s GSM technology. Vodafone, co-owner of Verizon Wireless, already sells the iPhone in Europe. Verizon is on DCMA.
