Amazon.com has released a new update to Kindle for iPad and Kindle for iPhone and iPod touch, which allows readers to enjoy the benefits of embedded video and audio clips in Kindle books. The first books to take advantage of this new technology, including “Rick Steves’ London” by Rick Steves and “Together We Cannot Fail” by Terry Golway, are available in the Kindle Store at http://www.amazon.com/kindleaudiovideo . Kindle Editions with audio/video are available now with the latest Kindle App on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Also, Kindle for iPhone is now optimized for iPhone 4’s Retina Display.

Widgetize has announced Colorize, for the iPhone and iPod touch. The US$1.99 app allows you to re-color your photos with the brush of a finger and create artwork and effects.

Europ Assistance USA and CSA Travel Protection have debuted the NetGlobers Trip Organizer app for the iPhone. Created specifically for the needs of the global traveler, the Trip Organizer app is available now through the Apple App Store for $4.99.

CyberLink Corp. has launched MediaStory, a slideshow creator application for iPhones, Android Phones and FaceBook. The $2.99 app allows consumers to create slideshows from their smart phone photos in three steps. MediaStory comes with pre-designed slideshow templates with various themes that can be applied to turn photos into animated slideshows on-the-fly. The slideshows can be played on the smart phone or uploaded to their FaceBook walls.
