Texans can now use their smart phone to manage their home’s temperature, no matter where they are. TXU Energy’s free app allows users of its TXU Energy iThermostat to manage their home’s heating and air conditioning through a new mobile web site that lets them view real-time temperature settings and even adjust the temperature setting, all from a handheld. The new TXU Energy iThermostat mobile website (txu.com/control) is compatible with the latest models of the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, BlackBerry Tour and Android smart phones (all brands).

Bobby Cronkhite Software has announced 4 Light 1.0 for iPhone 4 users. The US$0.99 harnesses the power of the new LED camera flash built into the iPhone 4 to give you a light wherever you need it.

Different Bits has introduced Chalkin’ Chimp’s Chalkboard 1.0 for the iPad. It’s a $3.99 sketching and painting app for kids and artists of any age.

ComboApp has rolled out 3D Coloring Book for Kids 1.0 for the iPad. The $2.99 app is described as “for children of all ages.”

Big Fish Games says its newest app, Big City Adventure: San Francisco, integrates peer-to-peer multiplayer gameplay with voice chat, making it the first game app to offer this feature on iPhone and iPad. Now, friends can share the fun of hidden object challenges, chatting as they compete to find items cleverly hidden among famous San Francisco sites. The iPhone version is US$4.99; the iPad version is $6.99.

Akai Pro has rolled out the Synthstation music production, a $9.99 app that transforms the iPhone or iPod touch into a portable music production studio for on-the-go music creation. The SynthStation Studio gives you three synthesizers for creating and modifying sonic textures.
ALSEDI Group has updated abcNotes for iPad, a $4.99 productivity app to simulate sticky notes. Now you can set any image or photo as the desktop background and enjoy multicolored sticky notes to keep track of all the appointments and business affairs.

Pantone has upgraded myPantone — its free iPhone application for capturing, creating and sharing Pantone Color palettes — to include the recently released Pantone Plus Color Libraries. Version 2.0 has a power search that takes users directly to a specific, commonly searched site. Users can also choose to open links in background tabs so they can click on a number of search results and let them open in the background.

Foto Brush Pro 1.2 is an Apple featured program for the aspiring artist and allows users to take a photo canvas and apply creative touches before saving, emailing or sharing with social networking friends on Facebook, Twitter or Flickr.

GregBeamanApps has updated iPossessed for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The $0.99 app is designed to give you a way to scare people who touch your devices. iPossessed includes a selection of pentagrams, along with frightening voices and screams, which are preset to go off on a timer. With the new updates, users can set their iPhones to vibrate maniacally and they can now post the experience to Twitter.
