New Brunswick tourist destination keen on iPads, iPods

Visitors to one of New Brunswick’s most popular tourists destinations are plugged into interpretive iPads and iPods, reports the “Telegraph-Journal” (http://telegraphjournal.canadaeast.com/rss/article/1140471).

Paul Gaudet, interpretive services manager at Hopewell Rocks, said they are probably the only tourist centre in the country using the technology this way, the article adds. As part of a pilot project guides can show tourists a variety of historical and geological information on the handheld Apple technology.

Gaudet said the IPads act as a database that can help tour guides enhance a guest’s experience. He told the “Telegraph-Journal” he thinks it’s only a matter of time before everyone in the interpretive world is using the same technology.
