Ergonis posts video on using Typinator

Ergonis Software has posted a video (http://www.ergonis.com/products/typinator/movie.html) on Typinator (http://www.ergonis.com/products/typinator/), its tool for auto-typing text and auto-correcting typos system-wide across all Mac OS X applications.

With thousands of predefined corrections for common typos and misspelled words for US and British English, German and French, Typinator is not only just a typing assistant that speeds repetitive typing tasks, but also a system-wide auto-correction tool that automatically fixes typing errors and misspelled words. You just define an abbreviation along with its replacement text or picture. Whenever you type one of your abbreviations in any application, Typinator inserts the corresponding replacement.

Among Typinator’s features is QuickSearch. Instead of inventing and remembering hundreds of cryptic abbreviations, you just type a keyboard shortcut and enter a few characters. Typinator instantly displays a list of matching snippets. Pick the one that you want, and it appears in your document right away. It’s like Spotlight for snippets, only much faster. QuickSearch can also be used for quickly opening and editing existing snippets.

Typinator requires Mac OS X 10.4 or newer, and Mac OS X 10.6 (“Snow Leopard”) is recommended.

Typinator can be purchased on the Ergonis Software web site for $19.99 for a single user license. A family pack for installation on up to five computers is $29.99. The upgrade to Typinator 4.0is free for anyone who purchased Typinator in the last two years.
