Primera announces on-demand color RFID label printer

Primera Technology (http://www.primeralabs.com) has announced its RX900 Color RFID Printer, which the company says is the world’s first and only full-color RFID “on demand” full-color RFID label printer.

Labels are printed, encoded, verified and dispensed one at a time. All popular linear and 2D bar code symbologies are purportedly supported. The built-in RFID reader/encoder module is supplied by Intermec, which specializes in RFID equipment and technology. It’s compliant with EPC Global Gen 2 Class 1 and ISO 18000 –b and –c specifications for the widest range of deployments in real-world applications.

Print resolution is up to 4800 dpi. The RX900 has eparate cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink make label production. It printes at up to full-color print speeds of 4.5-inches per second.

The RX900 Color RFID Printer will ship in November. It’s priced at US$4,995 (MSRP). Pre-orders are now being accepted.
