Sling Media, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EchoStar Corp., has announced the SlingPlayer Mobile player for the iPad. The US$29.99 app lets Slingbox owners extend their living room TV experience to their iPad and takes advantage of the iPad’s high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit display. The revamped program guide uses the iPad’s intuitive native interface, and a recent channels feature puts a viewer’s recent channels at his fingertips.

Absolute Software — a provider of firmware-based, patented, computer theft recovery, data protection and secure computer lifecycle management solutions — has launched Absolute Manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) for iOS 4 devices, such as the iPhone and iPad. The solution available with Absolute Manage allows IT departments to manage and secure iOS 4 devices alongside their Mac or PC computers from their platform of choice, Mac or Windows. Softmines has released Talking Pals-Kooka for the iPhone and iPod touch for $0.99. A lite version of the voice morphing app is also available. To celebrate the Thanksgiving festival in U.S, Softmines has also announced a contest giving users a chance to win a $10 iTunes gift certificate along with a promotion offer gifting every user their next application.

Apps Capital has introduced Diet Defense HD 1.0 for iPad users. It’s a $2.99 game with a healthy message. Diet Defense HD incorporates tower defense strategy with a war against junk food. Players use healthy fruits and vegetables as their weapons to keep marauding food enemies at bay.

In cooperation with Apalon, Nicholas Henson has unveiled Swing King 1.0, a $0.99 game for iOS devices. It allows users to relive their childhood swing jumping competitions. The goal is to jump off the swing and see how far one can land — this time with the help of birds hovering in the sky to give the player extra boosts. The farther the player lands, the more points can be obtained. With these points, users are able to purchase additional attachments.

Fairlady Media has debuted their newest game for the iPad, Bust A Marble. In this free puzzler, players string together groups of marbles to eliminate them from the board. Bust A Marble features 20 levels of play with an array of colored marbles that increase the difficulty of game play.

Magicbooksforkids Company has rolled out Puss in Boots 1.0 for Apple’s iPad. It’s a $3.99 storytelling with over 35 interactive pages packed with adventure and surprises for kids and their parents. When the narrator is finished on the page, the child can explore his or her curiosity and touch the characters, scenery, and various other objects on the page and interact with their reactions.

Energize Software has announced Easy Up/Down Timers Lite 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. This free dual timer app contains all the features of the full version, which has 25 timers. The timers count up or down, have background alerts, linking, synchronization, customized alarm sounds, themes, custom pictures, and tilt/shake control.

Magellan has updated its RoadMate navigation app for the iPhone. Version 1.3 is compatible with iOS4, taking advantage of iPhone 4’s multitasking ability as well as Retina Display. Users can now make or take phone calls while real-time navigation activities and routing continues in the background.

The Magellan RoadMate App is normally available for US$59.99. However, special promotional pricing of $44.99 is available for a limited time.

Bare Bones Software has released Yojimbo for iPad 1.0.1, the first update to this $9.99 companion app for Yojimbo 3, the information organizer for the Mac. The 1.0.1 update is a maintenance release that includes fixes for reported issues; it’s a free update for existing Yojimbo for iPad customers.

Ingenious Creations has introduced Perfect Web Browser 2.0, an update to their $2.99 web browser for the iPad. Version 2.0 incorporates many new features, including one tap bookmark syncing from any major Mac/PC web browser, the ability to swipe through web pages like photos for intuitive navigation, and more.

24x7digital has unveiled TimesTables 4.1, an update of the $0.99 educational title for the iPhone/iPod/iPad\platform which teaches the basics of multiplication with an emphasis on learning the times tables and becoming fast at recalling multiplication facts. The 4.1 update has a revamped user interface and adds multiplication flash cards, skip-counting apple orchard, and multiuser profiles, along with Apple Game Center leaderboards and achievement tracking and a new challenge mode.

EuroSmartz has rolled out CalPrint 1.1, an update of the $6.99 calendar viewing and printing app for the iPad. It provides the ability to print their calendar directly from their Apple device. The app has avariety of views and lists that can all be printed by just tapping the dedicated print button. CalPrint takes advantage of new functionality in iOS 4.2 and enables iPad and iPhone owners to view, edit and print their Exchange, Apple and Google calendars and more.

GACT.com has produced DAY element 1.2, the newly updated version of their $3.99 app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Employing a logical vertically integrated structure for ease of use, DAY element allows the user to update and keep track of personal tasks and expenses on a daily, weekly, or monthly scale.

Softmines has published Talking Pals-Kooka 1.0, their latest title for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. It’s a $0.99 voice morphing app in which a 3-D character, Kooka, responds to user’s voice and gestures. Talk to him and he will repeat whatever you say. Poke him on his ears and foot and he will be annoyed, tickle him and he will laugh earnestly, drag the bird feather to his noise and he will sneeze and finally, slap him if he goes off to sleep.

Holiday decorating experts Kathy Harrison and Becky McCraney are offering Show Me Decorating 1.2 for iOS devices. Follow their step-by-step instructions for holiday home decorating to create classic and festive home decor, or peruse “recipes” for holiday trees. Show Me Decorating is all about creating beautiful holidays for everyone to enjoy. Each selection comes with a recommended shopping list for ribbon, balls, floral, and ornaments in quantities determined by the size of the user’s tree.

Nuclear Nova Software has launched Hydrothermal 1.16 for the iPad. By leveraging the iPad’s unique abilities and interface, gamers now have the ability to play this $2.99 puzzle game on their Apple tablet. Hydrothermal is a city simulator game where gamers create a colony and ward off space invaders. Every aspect of the city, from the basic zoning layout to taxes and laws, can be controlled.

Game developer and publisher Codeminion has announced Saqqarah HD 1.19, a $6.00 iPad version of its puzzle game, Ancient Quest of Saqqarah. Ancient Quest of Saqqarah is a match-3 game; the iPad version of the game also introduces new features not present in the original game for the PC, like the ability to upload awards and trophies to Facebook.

Second Gear is sharing Shareables 1.1, an update to their ad-supported app that let’s you shorten and share URLs you discover on the web using your iPhone or iPod touch.   It works by using a bookmarklet that you install in Mobile Safari.  When you find a URL you want to share, just tap the “Share with Shareables” bookmarklet and the application will launch, shrink the URL and offer you a variety of ways to share it. Version 1.1 adds support for sharing via Tumblr, Pinboard and Delicious. It also includes a new setting that allows you to toggle which sharing services you want to have enabled.  

Macoscope has released version 1.2 of its Circuloid game for the iPad and is offering it for 50% less ($1.99 rather than $3.99) during during Thanksgiving and Black Friday. In Circuloid, the player becomes former white-collar agent John Circuloid, accepts his first undercover mission and gets the ball rolling, literally. Version 1.2 adds Game Center leaderboards support enabling players to compete against each other for high scores. It also includes sensitivity settings for accelerometer and slider control modes, as well as support for Apple’s recently released version 4.2 of the iOS.

SMEStorage has added support for the Google Storage Cloud into iSMEStorage, their iPad and iPhone application, that not only provides a local file manager capability, but also enables users to connect to one or more storage clouds and manage them within a virtual cloud file system. It’s immediately available in all SMEStorage client applications, including the iPad, iPhone, Android and BlackBerry mobile devices and from the Mac, Windows and Linux Cloud Drives.
