Golden Hill Software has released CloudPull, a Mac OS X application that backs up Google Docs to the Mac. It backs up documents, spreadsheets, and presentations as Microsoft Office files; drawings as PNG image files; and other files in their native formats.
CloudPull provides users with a local, independent backup of their Google Docs, says John Brayton, developer of CloudPull. It backs up automatically, once every hour. It maintains backups of prior revisions of documents and maintains backups of documents that have been deleted from Google Docs
CloudPull allows you to: drag and drop backups from CloudPull to the Finder at any time; preview your backups via QuickLook; and search documents by filename. It supports up to 10 Google accounts.
CloudPull requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later. It’s available for download and purchase from the Golden Hill Software web site (http://www.goldenhillsoftware.com/cloudpull/). Single-user licenses for CloudPull cost US$24.99. CloudPull has a free 30-day trial period. CloudPull is also available for sale at the same price from Apple’s Mac App Store. Product registration codes are available to members of the media upon request.
