The 2011 Photoshop World Expo, the world’s largest exhibition of digital photography and Photoshop-related products and services, will be held March 30-April 1 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Photoshop World is produced by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) in partnership with Adobe. The industry expo features product launches, interactive demonstrations, exclusive offers, and promotions and giveaways from more than 40 exhibitors, including Adobe, Adorama, Epson America, Manfrotto, Mpix, Nik Software, onOne Software, Peachpit, Wacom Technology and Xerox Corporation.
Throughout the course of this year’s expo, photographers of all skill levels will have the opportunity to put their shooting and lighting skills to the test at a special interactive booth located right on the show floor. Sponsored by F.J. Westcott, which specializes in professional photography and video lighting equipment, the booth will feature several live model and product shoot scenarios.
Along with taking photos during the ongoing simultaneous shoots, attendees will have a chance to submit their images in a special Shoot-Out Contest and compete for several prizes and the opportunity to be featured in an upcoming F.J. Westcott catalog. Additionally, attendees can get onsite advice and feedback, as well as product recommendations, from F.J. Westcott representatives.
In celebration of this year’s fashion-related theme, fashion design students from the International Academy of Design & Technology in Orlando have created several runway outfits and visual fashion displays inspired by Photoshop and Lightroom icons and graphics. Expo attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite looks, which will be displayed on the show floor. The two winning designers will each receive an iPad.
NAPP and Kelby Training will offer free bonus classes during regular expo hours taught by noted industry experts. Titles of these hour-long classes include: Digital Photographer’s Notebook, Designing with 3D, Design & Composition, Anatomy of a Digital Photo Shoot, and So You Want to Be a Travel Photographer. These bonus classes will be open to the general public on the final two days of the expo starting on Thursday, March 31 from 1-5 pm, and on Friday, April 1, from 9 am to 1 pm. The Expo will be held in the Orange County Convention Center, South Concourse, Expo Hall South B in Orlando.
